The bridge in Italy has been destructed as a result of heavy and prolonged rains. This is reported by the Comments.ua inform agency.
The part of a highway-195 bridge over the Rio Saint Lucia has been swept away on the Italian island of Sardinia.
It is noted that the highway which connects Cagliari, the municipalities of Kapoterre and Pula and San Giovanni Suerju, is left without a bridge now.
«A couple of hours before the emergency situation, the mayor ordered to stop traffic on the highway. Thanks to this decision, it was possible to avoid serious consequences and victims,» – the message says.
Restoration work will begin as soon as the weather conditions will improve.
