Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate accused activists of Right Sector in the attack and capture of Holy Trinity Church in village of Bogorodchany, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast.

As reported on the official site of UOC, incident happened on afternoon of September 28. It is also alleged that during seizure the doors and windows were broken.

«They beat believers. According to information received by the Information and Education Department of UOC, one of men received a concussion; another broke his arm, and rector of the church, Protopriest Volodymyr Shuvar, also suffered. Strong men were noticed by the parishioners at church. It has been reported that the head of Right Sector gathers people near church to go to church and capture it. Therefore, parishioners of Holy Trinity Church came here and tried to prevent capture», the UOC reported.

According to eyewitnesses, activists of Right Sector entered church building through the courtyard of music school, which adjoins building. Inside church activists staged a fight with the parishioners, resulting in several people injured: two men allegedly broke their arms and smashed their heads.

«The church abbot was attacked by breaking his hands, kicked him out into the street. Having thus expelled all parishioners, raiders changed locks. Everything happened so quickly that it was not even possible to fix it on camera, eyewitnesses report», the UOC reported.
