Canada decided to provide Ukraine with weapons that were destined for Kurds for fighting in Iraq. This is reported by North Shore News.
The source reports that Conservative MP James Bezan issued an appeal to the government to allocate to Ukraine $ 9.5 million worth of military equipment originally intended for Kurdish forces to fight Islamic militants in Iraq.

«They’ve been allowing these weapons to sit in storage and collect dust and, meanwhile, the violence in Ukraine has taken on a new spring offensive. Instead of letting those weapons go to waste, let’s get them in the hands of people that can use them», – said Mr Bezan.

It should be noted that the weapons had to be sent to Kurds more than a year ago, but due to the lack of approving documents from the government of Iraq, this did not happen. The weapon is still stored in warehouses of the Armed Forces of Canada in Montreal.
As «The Journalist» earlier reported, Ukraine and Canada signed an agreement on deepen military cooperation.
