Former head of youth public organization appropriated almost 2 million hryvnia

The ex-head of the All-Ukrainian youth public organization «Ukrainian Association of Student Self-Government» has been appropriating the organization’s money for several years. About this reports the press service of the prosecutor’s office in Kyiv.

The source reports that the attacker during 2013-2016, holding the position of head of student government, and having the right to first sign on financial documents, submitted to the bank an application for the issuance of funds for student travel abroad. On this basis, he received more than 830 thousand UAH.

In turn, the students interrogated during the investigation said that they did not go on business trips and the indicated measures were not taken at all.
In addition, the swindler submitted payment orders to the bank, on the basis of which over UAH 1.2 million was transferred from the organization’s current accounts to his own card account.

For committed actions, the attacker faces up to 12 years in prison.
