University hostel burns in Kyiv: 50 people were evacuated

A fire has occurred in the hostel of the Taras Shevchenko National University of in Kyiv. This is reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv.
The source reports that a 9 story building which is located on Nauki Ave., 23 in the Holosiivskyi District of Kyiv burned. The fire takes place in one of the rooms on the 2 nd floor of the hostel.
Firefighters liquidated the fire, while 50 people were evacuated from the building. Three units of basic and special fire-rescue equipment, as well as 15 personnel of the divisions of the Main Directorate of the Ukrainian National Security Service in Kyiv were needed in order to eliminate the fire.
The cause of the fire is being established.
During the fire, two residents of the hostel with a preliminary diagnosis of light smoke poisoning were hospitalized at the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital.
As The Journalist reported earlier, a fire broke out on the Okruzhnaya road [Ring Road] in Kyiv near the Epicenter hypermarket.
