The black diamond apple variety has a dark purple color, and it is not growing everywhere, The Wild Child informs.
It is reported that Hua Niu, or black diamond apples, first appeared in New Zealand, then they were brought to China, where they were planted in Nyingchi, Tibet, and were further developed thanks to a special environment and inoculation techniques of local farmers.
It is noted that the peel of apples has a purple color and is very shiny. Also, this variety does not need fertilization and has resistant to cold as well as natural protection against parasites and insects.
However, the variety of apples is considered rare because apples grow in the highlands at an altitude of 3,500 m. above sea level. They need plenty of sunlight and ultraviolet light. Therefore, these fruits are grown in China in a 50 hectare garden located in Nyingchi.
Black Diamond apples are annually entering the market at the end of October and are sold for about two months. However, only a small percentage of apples meet quality standards, and therefore their production volume is extremely low, which makes these fruits an exclusive product.
It is noted that Hua Niu apples are sold in gift packs of 6 or 8 pieces, and can be purchased by placing an order in advance.
As The Journalist reported, German farmers distributed 30 tons of apples for free.
