Ebola erupts again in Congo

The authorities of the DR Congo intend to vaccinate the population due to the newly erupted Ebola virus. As reported by Deutsche Welle, 26 Ebola infection cases were confirmed for now.

As reported by the Ministry of Health of the DR Congo, in the city of Ikok, in the north-west province of the country, four new cases of a dangerous disease were identified. Moreover, there are now 21 probable Ebola cases, and four suspected ones, as noted by the Ministry of Health, the news agency dpa reports.

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned about high probability of rapid spread of the virus to other regions, due to four Ebola virus cases, which have been confirmed in a city of more than 1 million people, Mbandaka.

Meanwhile, the authorities launched a vaccination campaign today, May 21. On the eve, 4,000 doses of vaccine arrived in the city of Mbandaka.
