On May 29, the US Department of State submited annual International Religious Freedom report for 2017, which shows the North Korean authorities can keep 80 to 120,000 political prisoners in their labor camps. This is reported by the press service of the US Department of State.
The report notes that the conditions of prisoners at some sites are horrifying. Many of them are beaten, tortured and punished for religious affiliation.
Also, the document describes North Korea as a country that «causes fears».

«A Gulag system operating in North Korea, and it’s been a terrible situation for many years», – U.S. ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom, Sam Brownback said.

Mr Brownback noted, that these issues will be considered at the summit, which is being prepared in Singapore.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, the President of South Korea may join meeting between leaders of US and North Korea.
