Tokyo plans to place a special bureau in Pyongyang to establish relations and contacts in order to solve the problem of Japanese citizens, being held in DPRK. This is reported by the Korrespondent news agency.
The Head of the Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office Shigeru Kitamura, who is in charge of intelligence affairs in North Korea, and Kim Song Hye, the Head of the United Front Department’s of the Workers’ Party, which is engaged in intelligence and information gathering, have held secret negotiations in the capital of Mongolia on October 6-8.
It is noted that the main topic of the meeting was the problem of the returning of Japanese citizens, who were abducted by North Korean intelligence services in 1970-80 and forcibly held in this country, to their homeland.
In addition, was discussed the possible summit between Japan and North Korea leaders.
As The Journalist reported, a tripartite meeting on the denuclearization of North Korea will be held in the territory of the demilitarized zone.
