Head of Naftogaz’s integrated gas business, Andriy Favorov, said that the company has a backup plan to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies in case of difficulties with the continuation of the blue fuel transit via Ukraine.
“We have a backup plan to ensure the reliability of gas supplies. We constantly cooperate with the Ukrtransgaz technical department to make sure that the Ukrainian gas transport system is still competitive and the capacity of gas storage facilities is designed for a large amount of gas,” the official said.
Favorov said that the plan provides uninterrupted gas transportation system operation, but “details of such measures cannot be disclosed, since other traders can take advantage of this situation,” Telegraf reports.
He also noted that it is extremely important for European consumers to know that the Ukrainian gas transportation system is not just competitive, but also important for maintaining the security of the entire European gas transportation network.
As The Journalist reported, Groysman cannot reduce gas prices because of the possible negative consequences for the Ukraine’s economy.
