Today, July 9, the international naval exercises Sea Breeze-2018 starts in Odessa.
This year military personnel from the following countries is taking part: Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Georgia, Denmark, Estonia, Canada, Lithuania, Norway, Romania, Poland, the United States, Turkey, Sweden, India, UAE and Moldova.
«The topic of the exercises is planning and implementation of a multinational maritime security operation in a crisis region. Head of the exercise from Ukraine is Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Naval Forces Oleksiy Neizhpapa and on the American side, Commander of Task Force 65 of the U.S. Navy’s 6th Fleet, Commodore Matthew J. Lehman,» – Radio Liberty reported.
It is noted that the naval exercises consist of three phases: the arrival of participants, planning of the operation in accordance with NATO standards and the practical actions of the forces.
The exercises will takes place in Odessa and Mykolaiv regions, as well as in the north-western part of the Black Sea between 9. and 21. July 2018.
