In the town of Żary, Lubusz Voivodeship (western Poland), on the night of July 15 – 16, two Ukrainian citizens robbed the currency exchange office. This is reported by the press service of Lubuska.policja.
It is reported that the robbers tried to break the armored glass of exchange office, using heavy hammers. One of the hammer was broken in the process. After several dozen attacks, the men managed to break a hole in the glass, through which one of the robbers entered the store room and steal a significant amount of money from the office. In turn, the police do not specify amount of stolen funds.
It is noted that the robbers were caught a day later in Dolgobychev, where they attempted to cross the Polish-Ukrainian border, outside the border crossing point.
A preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of 3 months was chosen for the robbers.
They are charged with robbery using dangerous items. Men face from three to twelve years of imprisonment. In addition, the police find out whether these men are involved in other robberies in Poland.
