Employees of Border Guard Service of Poland exposed the activities of a criminal group in the Carpathian region, which was involved in the illegal sale of cigarettes without excise signs. About this reports Polish Radio.

As it became known, the group was organized and headed by a 27-year-old resident of Przemysl, he was engaged in the procurement of cigarettes and organized the entire sales system in Poland, as well as the Czech Republic and Germany.
It is noted that among the detainees, four Poles and two Ukrainians.

«Within 1.5 years, the criminal group sold more than 209 thousand packs of smuggled cigarettes and caused damage to the State Treasury of Poland in the amount of more than 3.5 million zlotys (more than € 810 thousand)», the statement reads.

For participation in an organized criminal group and the commission of financial crimes, detainees face up to 5 years in prison.

Earlier «Journalist» reported that border guards prevented movement through points passes more than 1.7 thousand packs of smuggling.
