Lithuania supports Ukraine’s intentions to enshrine her path towards NATO and the European Union in Constitution

The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania has expressed its solidarity and strong support for democratic reforms in Ukraine, as well as it supported to Ukraine’s desire to enshrine the irreversibility of her European and Euro-Atlantic course in the Constitution. This was published on the website of the Parliament.
As the document noted, the principles of geopolitical orientation, enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, provides the chosen path to European and transatlantic integration and the necessity of fulfillment of the obligations as country- member of the EU and NATO. This principle clearly demonstrates the determination of the state to be part of the Western democratic community. At the same time, the Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Ukraine, Anna Gopko, has expressed her gratitude to the Lithuanian colleagues for the firm position, the supporting of Ukraine in her struggle for sovereignty, territorial integrity and assistance on the path towards NATO and the European Union.
