A monument to Taras Shevchenko will be created in the Serbian city of Novi Sad, the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated during a joint press conference with the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade.
«I want to thank the President for a very important thing in matters of our cultural and humanitarian cooperation. We decided to speed up the establishment of a monument to the outstanding Ukrainian poet, the father of the Ukrainian nation Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko in Novi Sad», Poroshenko said.
He expressed hope that during his next visit together with the President of Serbia he will be able to open this monument.
As the «Journalist» reported, Ukrainians received a 90-day visa-free stay in Serbia.
