The President of the United States of America Donald Trump has confirmed his Administration’s intentions regarding the consideration of Poland’s request for a permanent presence of the American military contingent on her territory. This is reported by Radio Liberty inform agency.
«Poland is ready to provide the United States with very significant assistance for entry and presence in Poland, and, of course, this is what we will talk about,» – Trump said on the eve of the meeting with his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda, in the White House.
It is known that Poland repeatedly asked US for the deployment of American Armed forces on its territory. Warsaw has announced their readiness to finance the US military base in the country for up to USD 2 billion.
Poland insists on the constant presence of US troops in order to counter the Russian Federation (RF) military activity in the region.
It is reported that the Russian Federation did not supported such an initiative: she believes that the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) influence to the east will threaten European stability.
It is noted that American soldiers are already serving on the territory of Poland on a rotational basis as part of the NATO mission.
