California will held a referendum on the proposal to split the state into three parts this autumn. This is reported by the «Los Angeles Times».

According to the administration of the 31st US statethis initiative was proposed by venture сapitalist Timothy Draper from the Silicon Valley.

In the upcoming referendum, citizens are offered to divide California into three states: California, Northern California and Southern California.

Northern California will include the cities of San Francisco and Sacramento, Southern California will include San Diego, Fresno, Kern and Orange. California will include Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura.

Note, if the initiative can win a majority, it will have to be approved by the US Congress and the California Government Assembly.
