Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Pavlo Klimkin, took part in the opening of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Edmonton. About this informs Ukrinform.
According to Klimkin, opening of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Canada is a landmark event.
«By this Ukraine recognizes special role played by Ukrainian community in West of Canada, and opens door for trade and investment contacts», minister said.
Message says that Consulate General in Edmonton was the first that Ukraine opened after beginning of Russian aggression. By this time, Ukrainian Embassy in Ottawa and Consulate in Toronto operated in Canada.
Earlier Journalist reported that in Canadian Edmonton consulate of Ukraine will open.
