The District Court of Sumy, during the preliminary hearing on the case against Andriy Bozhko, head of the department of the State Ecological Inspection in the region, who is also a deputy of the regional council, dismissed him from his post.
As the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Sumy region reported, the court also chose the measure of restraint for Andriy Bozhko and appointed the case for consideration on the merits.
According to the report, the defense of Andriy Bozhko attempt to return the indictment to the prosecutor’s office because of alleged violations of the law. But the court found that the indictment complies with the requirements of Article 291 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine, no violations have been established.
«The case was assigned to consideration on the merits. The next hearing will be held on June 22. At the same time, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, the accused was dismissed from his post until August 7 and he was given a preventive measure in the form of a personal obligation», – the press service reported.
