In Toronto, a sculptural composition dedicated to memory of victims of Holodomor will be placed at Exhibition Square. This is written by Ukrinform.
It is reported that the opening of the memorial will be held on October 21 near Lake Ontario.
The basis of the monument will be the sculpture of Ukrainian artist Petro Drozdovskiy «Bitter memory of childhood». The idea of Drozdovskiy’s sculptural composition lies in idea of thematic association of a monument in Toronto with similar memorials in other countries.
It is reported that cost of monument will be about $ 1.2 million. Most of necessary funds were collected by representatives of Ukrainian diaspora.
As previously reported by The Journalist in a large shopping center in Toronto visitors were evacuated.
