On November 14, Ukrzaliznytsia launched the Mukachevo-Budapest train on the narrow gauge track, said Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan on his Facebook page.
«We plan to launch a regular communication [along the Mukachevo-Budapest route, – ed.] in the near future. The specific feature of this route is the fact that the train will go on the narrow gauge track, which means that passengers will not have to waste time replacing wheelsets and wait in line at the border. The next planned direction is the direction to Slovakia, also on narrow gauge tracks. This was recently agreed with a Slovak colleague,» Omelyan said.
The Minister stressed that the city of Mukachevo, with its convenient communication with many Ukrainian cities and EU countries, has every chance of becoming a major railway hub, not just a passenger one.
As The Journalist reported, NABU stated that the Minister Omelyan has millions of assets exceeding his legal income.
