Sphinx statue was accidentally found in Upper Egypt

According to the head of the Office of Ancient Monuments Affairs of the province of Muhammad Abdul Aziz, an archaeological find was discovered by workers in the city of Luxor, during road repairs.

It is noted that the monument is not in a hurry to extract from the earth, so it is not damaged.

It is worth recalling that the famous Sphinx was carved from a monolith of calcareous rock by the order of Pharaoh Khafra from the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom (circa 2500 BC).

Recall that Sphinx in Giza was created by the order of Khafra, the fourth Pharaoh Carved from the rock statue of a lion with a human face is still the largest in the world.
