In Western Europe, tropical hornets Vespa velutina, deadly to humans are spread

Almost throughout France, tropical hornets Vespa velutina have spread, which attack local residents. This is written by the portal The Local.

For the first time in Europe species of Vespa velutina hornets appeared in France, where it was supposedly brought from China in 2004. By 2010, portal notes, these hornets settled throughout the southwestern part of the country, and later reached regions that border on Belgium, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.

It is also reported that only in French department of the Manche for three months insects attacked 180 people, one of whom was stabbed 15 times.
The Local reported that the poison of hornets does not always lead to death – death occurs only if a person has an allergy or he suffered from multiple bites.
French firefighters warned residents not to try to destroy hornets themselves. They stressed that insects fly faster than a man runs and can bite almost any kind of clothing.
