The Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into the abduction of weapons from the military unit of Zhytomyr Oblast, the press service of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Central Region of Ukraine, which is in charge of procedural leadership in the investigation of the incident.
«On the night, September 20, after training shooting in a separate reconnaissance company of one of the motorized infantry brigades, stationed in the city of Novohrad-Volynskyi, weapon and ammunition [five pistols, five AKS-74 assault rifles] were stolen by a group of unidentified persons,» – the message said.
The specialists of criminalistic and cynological services of the police, as well as employees of the Security Service in the Zhytomyr region were involved in order to conduct primary investigative actions.
«The Head of the investigation department and a group of prosecutors from the military prosecutor’s office of the Central region of Ukraine promptly departed to the scene of incident to uncover the crime,» – the department noted.
Priority investigative actions are being continuing.
As The Journalist reported, the police detained several more suspects in the murder of ex-volunteer ATO Oleshko.
