According to the detainees, they set up an overnight stay in an abandoned, empty building, since “they dreamed of celebrating New Year in such a strange atmosphere.”
Regarding the offenders, administrative protocols under Art. 46 p.1 of the Administrative Code (violation of the requirements of the radiation safety regime in areas affected by radioactive contamination) are opened. Offenders face a penalty of 20 to 30 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens.
It is noted that in 2018 the police found and detained 196 stalkers in the Chernobyl NPP zone.
