The leader of the political party Golos Sviatoslav Vakarchuk addressed an appeal to Ukrainian politicians not to promise the people a rapid end of the war in Donbas, but to do everything possible to end it on favorable terms for Ukraine, as reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“To me, if you meet a person saying he knows exactly how to end the war, it is not true: either this person is lying or he misunderstands the matter. This is a very multifaceted complex process. And I warn all politicians, including those in power today: do not promise people a rapid end of the war, promise to do your best to ensure the most rapid war ending possible on the favorable terms for Ukraine,” said Vakarchuk.
Vakarchuk also mentioned the key factors of war termination in Donbas.
“We have to create a fairy tale on the territories under Ukraine’ control, a sort of a showcase of a real free life, where people feel themselves decent, protected and safe… I am sure that people of the uncontrolled territories, in any way, will want to be united with us as soon as possible. In that case it will be much easier for us find the solution”, explained the leader of the Golos party.
Moreover, according to Vakarchuk, you should not forget that people living on the other side of the demarcation line, are also Ukrainians. We should lend them a hand and show that, regardless of their political convictions, they are welcome in Ukraine.
As The Journalist previously reported, Vakarchuk promised that in the list of Golos party there will be no deputies of the current convocation of the Verkhovna Rada.
