The Parliament of the Valencian Community of Spain on December 4 considered the issue of the recognition of the Holodomor in Ukraine 1932-1933. Valencian deputies unanimously approved the resolution “On raising the awareness of and condemning the great crimes of the twentieth century, such as the Holodomor of 1932-1933,” Ukrinform reports.

Representatives of all factions in their speeches agreed with the assessment of the Holodomor as genocide.

The motivational part of the resolution states “the most vigorous condemnation of inhuman and genocidal acts carried out by Stalin’s totalitarian regime.”

The operative part of the document calls on the executive authority to promote “the knowledge and condemnation of the Holodomor – along with the great crimes of the XX century.

Generalitat (government) within three months must inform the parliamentary committee on human rights about the measures taken in this direction.

As The Journalist reported, Germany does not recognize Holodomor as genocide in Ukraine, despite the petition.
