In order to peacefully resolve the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine, it is necessary to ensure that the general public is aware of current situation among world community. The corresponding statement on the eve of General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) in New York was made by the Secretary for Relations with the Vatican States Paul Richard Galaguer. «There is a need to promote public awareness of ongoing conflicts in order to resolve them peacefully, especially in Ukraine, Libya, and the Central African Republic», explained Galager.
In his speech, Galager also voiced an appeal to the international community to make efforts to end the civil war in Syria.
«In the Middle East, the world community should respond adequately and immediately to diverse political and diplomatic pressure, as well as violence, along with various humanitarian challenges, especially in Syria», Vatican’s foreign minister said.
