The head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Serhiy Verlanov has said that during the comprehensive tax reform in 2020, the agency intends to revise the tax rates on wages, downward.
In particular, it means reducing tax pressure on small salaries.
“Within the framework of the tax reform announced in 2020, initiated by the government and supported by the Verkhovna Rada, the issue of changing tax rates on personal incomes will be considered. Everyone understands that the scale should be differentiated and tax pressure on the smallest salaries should be reduced,” Verlanov noted.
The tax burden in Ukraine is the world’s average, and the tax justice consider to be the key issue in the country.
“There are payers who do not pay taxes. Therefore, the tax burden is concentrated only on law-abiding companies and citizens. And our task is to ensure everyone to pay taxes that allows us to reduce it,” Verlanov emphasized.
To date, Ukrainians pay 18% of personal income tax and 1.5% of a military fee, which are levied on salaries.
As The Journalist reported, Law on exemption from taxes of Naftogaz unbundling process entered into force.
