The Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto threatens with new measures aimed to prevent Ukraine’s EU and Euro-Atlantic integration after Hungarian consul from the Transcarpathian town of Berehove published the video shows Ukrainian residents were being issued with Hungarian passports.

This is stated in a message on the website of the Government of Hungary, Interfax Ukraine news agency reports.

In particular, the Hungarian Government «condemns attempts to intimidate Transcarpathian Hungarians.»

«The Hungarian Government will not allow the Ukrainian administration to further worsen the situation with the Transcarpathian Hungarians, and condemns attempts to intimidate them in the most determined manner,» – Szijjarto said.

«Dual citizenship is a daily practice in the EU, and therefore, Ukrainian objections do not indicate that Kyiv is serious about European integration and accession to NATO,» – the Hungarian Head of Government said.

Also, according to Szijjarto, the Hungarian government considers the possibility of expelling the Hungarian consul from the Transcarpathian town of Berehove as particularly unfriendly and risky act.

In addition, Hungary continues Hungary is continuously monitoring developments and it is possible that «further measures to slow Ukraine’s integration may also be required in future.»

As The Journalist reported, Klimkin believes in Zakarpattia Hungarian passports are permanently secretly given.
