The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the presidential law «On the establishment of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court» (No. 8497). 265 out of 351 people’s deputies in the session hall voted for this decision.
According to the law, the location, territorial jurisdiction and status of Supreme Anti-Corruption Court are determined by the law «On the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court».
The Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Filatov reminded, that the court will be located in Kiev.
«The adoption of this law will allow to start procedures related to the creation of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court and to fill vacant positions of judges of this court and the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court», – Filatov said.
The Cabinet of Ministers must adopt, within the limits of its competence, measures related to the establishment of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court; the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine – to take all necessary measures for the implementation of this law.
The law will come into force the next day after its publishing.
