Egyptian Parliament has proposed the adoption of a bill banning the wearing of a black veil that completely covers the face. About this informs Egypt Independent.
It is reported that Egyptian authorities propose to fine those who publicly cover the entire face.
The report notes that for the first time the fine can reach 1,000 Egyptian pounds ($ 56), in the case of repeated violations, the fine is doubled.
Thus, Egyptian deputies want to follow the example of Algeria, where a similar law was passed a month ago.
«Niqab is not related to religion and does not violate personal freedom, but is a threat to society and national security, as it is often used by terrorist and criminal elements to commit their deeds», the statement reads.
Earlier, «Journalist» reported that in Denmark a woman was first fined for wearing a niqab.
