French data privacy regulator CNIL has fined Google giant EUR 50 million, The Local reported.
"Google received a record fine from the CNIL regulator for its inability to provide transparent and easily accessible information on the policy of obtaining consent for data processing," the report says.
The French company said that Google has made it difficult for users to manage settings about the possibility of using their personal information, in particular, for targeted advertising.
A Google spokesperson said the company is working on developing the next steps to meet user expectations and requirements.
