In Lviv there is an epidemic outbreak of measles

In Lviv, due to the outbreak of measles, partner deliveries in the maternity ward of the 3rd city clinical hospital were temporarily banned.

It is also prohibited to visit pregnant women and women in labor during the measles outbreak.

“The administration reports that due to the increased incidence of measles among children and adults in the city of Lviv, in order to prevent the spread of measles in children’s and maternity hospitals in Lviv, according to the instructions of the Lviv City Council Health Department, the practice of partner births, free visits to pregnant women and women in childbirth are prohibited the period of an epidemic outbreak of measles,” the report says.
The term of the ban is not yet known.
At the same time, Ministry of Health of Ukraine will not announce a measles epidemic, the acting Minister of Health Ulana Suprun said after government meeting.
“We will not declare an epidemic. But this is only a word, it does not matter. In fact, it is more important to expand opportunities for greater vaccination,” Suprun said.
