The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has decided to suspend the participation of the Ukrainian delegation in the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and recommends resuming its work only after Russia fulfills the key points of the PACE resolutions. This is reported by the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the PACE, Volodymyr Aryev, as Ukrainska Pravda reports.
The VR Committee also recommends the Speaker of Parliament to revoke the invitation referring to the PACE observation of elections in Ukraine, as well as to refuse to participate in the conference of heads of parliaments in the PACE framework in September.
The chairman of the VR should also hold relevant consultations with the chairmen of parliaments of other Council of Europe member countries, who hold a common position with Ukraine.
Earlier, The Journalist reported that according to Dmytro Kuleba, negotiations on Russia’s return to PACE intensified at the beginning of 2019.
