The 3.8% growth of Ukraine’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the second quarter of this year is caused by an abnormally early harvest, but this effect will be redused by the end of the year.

Therefore, by the end of 2018, Ukraine’s GDP growth will be at 3.3%, not 3.5%, as the Bank had previously predicted, said Anastasia Golovach, the economist for Ukraine at the World Bank.

«Economic growth in Ukraine has accelerated to 3.5% in the H1 of 2018. And it iwas higher than it was expectated. This happened due to the fact that the economy grew by 3.8% in the second quarter, and the main cause of this growth was an abnormally early harvest. Therefore, we generally expect that the effect of this factor will be declined to some extent level in the H2 of the year, and GDP growth will be at 3.3% in 2018,» – UNIAN news agency quotes Mrs Golovach as saying.

As The Journalist reported, the World Bank is ready to provide Ukraine with USD 650 million if she reached agreements with IMF.
