The World Bank, at the request of the Ukrainian Government, is ready to provide Ukraine with USD 650 million guarantees to raise about USD 800 million in foreign markets on condition that agreements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding the fourth revision of the program will be reached, and also a number of economic laws will entry into force in the Ukrainian state.
This is stated by the press service of the World Bank, UNIAN news agency reported.
«After the completion of the preparation and approval of the new operation, Ukraine will receive a USD 650 million guarantee from the World International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which will help to raise about USD 800 million in foreign markets,» – the report says.
In order the new World Bank operation to become possible, it will be necessary to confirm the completion of all initiated reforms. Also a number of laws need to be entered into force and a favorable macroeconomic situation must be created.
It is also critical for the Government to reach agreement on the fourth revision of the lending program with the IMF, without which a new guarantee operation cannot be implemented.
As The Journalist reported, National Bank of Ukraine said that fluctuations in the currency exchange rate in Ukraine aggravated by the psychological factor.
