The Warsaw District Court has arrested for three months the former Minister of Transport of Poland and the ex-head of State Agency for Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Slawomir Nowak, as well as two Poles suspected of receiving illegal benefits and money laundering, NABU reports.
The press secretary of the coordinator minister of the intelligence services Stanislav Zharin clarified that the other two arrested are the former commander of the JW GROM military unit No. 2305 Dariusz Zawadka and businessman from Gdansk Jacek P.
Zavadka can be released on conditional bail of PLN 1 million (about USD 260,000) paid within a month.
On July 21 the Warsaw prosecutor’s office charged Novak with leading an organized criminal group that benefited from corruption. Separate investigations in relation to Novak both in Poland and in Ukraine are currently underway.
Detention of Novak: Ukrainian law agencies conduct searches in Ukravtodor offices in Kyiv and Lviv.
