WHO: quarantine not enough to defeat COVID-19

World Health Organization’s top emergency expert Mike Ryan has stated that quarantine is not enough to fight against coronavirus, and it is necessary to pay attention to public health in order to avoid a resurgence of the virus later on, The New York Times reports.

According to him, it is necessary to take the strong public health measures in order to subsequently avoid a resurgence of the virus. Countries cannot simply lock down their societies to defeat the virus.

Ukrainian government introduced an emergency situation mode in Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Dnipropetrivsk, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts in connection with the coronavirus outbreak.
