A special annual meeting of the World Economic Forum will take place in Singapore from May 13-16, 2021, said Managing Director of Public Affairs Adrian Monck.
It is specified that in 2022 the World Economic Forum will be held in Davos (Switzerland). For example, a special annual meeting in 2021 in Singapore will be the first global leadership event dedicated to rebuilding the world after the pandemic.
“The Global Leadership Summit is critical to discuss how we can recover together. The special 2021 Annual Meeting will be a meeting place for leaders from business, government and civil society for the first time since the start of the global pandemic. Public-private cooperation is needed more than ever to restore confidence and close the divisions that have arisen in 2020,” said Klaus Schwab, founder and head of the World Economic Forum.
The relocation of the meeting to Singapore reflects the Forum’s concern about the health and safety of meeting participants and local communities. After carefully examining possible locations and in light of the current coronavirus situation, it was decided that Singapore would be the best place to host the meeting.
