Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin on the air of the Ukraine 24 channel said that Iran agree to pay compensation to the families of those killed in the crash of the Ukrainian plane only after the investigation is completed and all the perpetrators are brought to justice.
The Ukrainian side welcomes Iran’s readiness to fulfill its international obligations regarding the UIA plane crash and pay compensation to the families of the victims.
“Compensation will be calculated only after Ukraine receives full information about the circumstances of the incident, sees Iran’s willingness to complete the technical and criminal investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice,” the message reads.
Earlier the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran Abbas Mousavi said that Iran agreed to pay compensation for the downing of the UIA plane near Tehran. The amount of payments has not yet been announced.
