Zelensky appoints new ambassador of Ukraine to Spain

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Anatolii Shcherba as ambassador of Ukraine to Spain.

The corresponding decree No. 262/2020 was published on the website of the president.

“To dismiss Anatolii Shcherba as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Spain,” the document reads.

At the same time, by another decree No. 263/2020, the head of state appointed Serhiy Pogoreltsev as ambassador of Ukraine to Spain.

Recall that Shcherba was appointed ambassador of Ukraine to Spain by fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in March 2016.

Pogoreltsev is a Ukrainian diplomat who previously held the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Spain from July 2012 to November 2013.

From September 2016 to the present time he serves as Director of the Consular Services Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
