Zelensky appoints Yelchenko ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda and Jamaica

On July 20, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree on the new appointment for the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States, Volodymyr Yelchenko.

“To appoint Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States, Volodymyr Yelchenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Antigua and Barbuda and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Jamaica concurrently,” the presidential decree says.

Recall that in 2010-2015, the diplomat headed the embassy in Russia. He was the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN until 2019.

In 2016-2017, Yelchenko was the representative of Ukraine in the UN Security Council.

Since December 2019, Yelchenko has headed the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.
