During the press marathon, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky assured that he was ready to talk with people who oppose the withdrawal of troops in Donbas.

The President commented on how he would react to the protests on Maidan if the number of participants in the “No Surrender” action who oppose the withdrawal of troops on the demarcation line and the implementation of the so-called “Steinmeier formula” will increase.

The President stressed that he was ready to communicate with people, and noted that, according to polls, 89% of citizens support the end of the war.

“Concerning the Maidan protests … I’m not afraid of anything at any moment, at any second; if the society really doesn’t want my team to continue, so that I resign as the president; there will be no bloodshed. I take this very calmly,” Zelensky said.

In addition, according to Zelensky, Poroshenko is mistaken, thinking he can be the leader of the new Maidan.

“Why Mr. Poroshenko opposed the withdrawal of forces? He felt that “Steinmeier’s formula” is the key, and it discussed on the streets along with Steinmeier’s formula,” Zelensky said.

“There is only one mistake Poroshenko makes: he thinks he may be the leader of another Maidan. And he is ready, you have seen the same statement from President (Germany) Steinmeier himself, the German and French parties, and many European media, they are shocked because his rhetoric is changing, just as his status has changed. But the only thing that he forgets is that he is no longer the president. I’m afraid that there is a problem on the physical level,” the president emphasized.

“He is against withdrawal; it seems to him that there may be another Maidan. Moreover, he pushes people a little with his media and his actions,” Zelensky said.

As The Journalist reported, Zelensky instructs to prepare annual message of president to Verkhovna Rada.
