Zelensky dissolved Rada and called early parliamentary elections in Ukraine on July 21

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the early termination of powers of Verkhovna Rada and the appointment of early elections on July 21.

The corresponding decree No. 303/2019 of May 21 is published on the website of the head of state.

“Guided by part two of article 77, parts sixth and seventh of article 83, clause 1 of part two of article 90 of the Constitution of Ukraine and in accordance with clauses 7 and 8 of part one of article 106 of the Constitution of Ukraine I decree:

1. To terminate early the powers of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the eighth convocation.

2. To appoint special elections to Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on July 21, 2019,” the document says.

The Cabinet of Ministers is entrusted with the task of ensuring the financing of extraordinary elections to Verkhovna Rada.

The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.

As reported by “Journalist”, the first appointments of Volodymyr Zelensky may appear in the evening.
