President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy suggested Mykolayiv RSA Acting Head Viacheslav Bon to resign, the presidential press service reports.

The President stated this during an acquaintance with the infrastructure and conditions of functioning of Mykolaiv International Airport on July 17.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that a strange situation had happened with the airport’s repair that raises many questions. According to him, it concerns the efficiency of the use of funds.

“Repair is accompanied by constant scandals – litigation concerning the contractor company, the tragic situation with the previous Airport director Voloshyn,” the statement said.

The President asked the Airport director Fedor Barna how much money is needed and what are the terms for completing the passenger flow. The Airport director said that the last charter flights were in July, while regular flights do not fly, in particular due to lack of dispatchers. Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Yuriy Lavrenyuk replied that the dispatchers were not sent because of the lack of loading and clear schedules of regular flights. The President suggested to send dispatchers for a certain period – for the experiment, and the Airport director should provide air carriers.

The Head of State also said that he is now seeking new Mykolayiv RSA Head and urged the activists to propose whom they would like to see as the RSA Head.

Zelensky ordered to repair the most problematic roads in the Mykolaiv Oblast and streamline the conditions for holding tenders for these purposes.
