President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a working visit to the Republic of Poland took part in events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi concentration camp.

The President’s Office noted that former Auschwitz prisoners who survived the terrible times of the Holocaust delivered speeches at the State concentration camp museum. They shared memories and called on the international community to never forget the terrible tragedy.

“All of you must make sure that the memory of this place and other places where people were sent to death and that it will never repeat again,” 95-year-old Bat-Sheva Dagan, who survived in the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, said.

Together with other delegation leaders, Zelensky put a lighted icon lamp on the memory board with an inscription in Ukrainian.

Recall that on January 27 the world commemorates the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

As The Journalist reported, Ukrainian delegation does not take part in main events of Holocaust Remembrance Forum.
