President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Ukraine will develop nuclear energy and complete the construction of nuclear power plants despite the opposition of many countries, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“There is a strategy for the development of nuclear energy in Ukraine and completion of nuclear power plants in Ukraine. We will definitely do this. Somewhere between 51-52% of generation in Ukraine is nuclear. The cheapest type of electricity for Ukrainians, for the consumer, so we will develop it,” Zelensky said and noted that nuclear energy is safe.
At the same time, Zelensky believes that Ukraine has every opportunity to be one of the first countries in Europe and in the world on the issue of nuclear energy.
