President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky asked the chairman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy to convene an extraordinary meeting of parliament for today, May 22.
This is stated in the message on the page Zelensky on Twitter.
“I ask Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy to convene an extraordinary meeting of parliament on May 22 to amend the law on the election of people’s deputies,” the message said.
To his post, the president added a photo of the appeal to Parubiy. In it, he asks to include on the agenda of the meeting on May 22 the question of amending the laws “On elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine” and “On public procurement”.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, speaker of Parliament Parubiy issued a decree on convening an extraordinary plenary session of parliament on May 22 at 12:00.
As reported by “Journalist”, Zelensky dissolved the parliament and called early parliamentary elections in Ukraine on July 21.
