The US delegation that attended the inauguration of Volodymyr Zelenskiy discussed with the American leader Donald Trump the future contacts with the newly elected President of Ukraine.
This was stated by a U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations, Kurt Volker, in Washington, Ukrinform reports.
When asked whether Trump plans to hold a telephone conversation with Zelensky or hold any other meeting in the next three months, Volker replied that American delegation discussed this with Trump after returning from Ukraine.
“We discussed this issue with President Trump when we returned. We still has not made decision on how this will be specifically implemented,” Volker said.
According to the special representative, “this remains on the agenda of the administration. We need to continue cooperation, including at the presidential level.”
“I cannot answer today how we will do this, but this is on the agenda,” added Volker.
